Wow, we’ve made it through the 1st half of 2020 – a year that will go down in history books forever! Some of the challenges and choices you have faced may have been difficult as well as frustrating. Others have embraced change and triumphed during this time.
I was a single mom of a 3 month old and 3 year old 17 years ago. I never dreamed of being in that position. I was the first person in my family to ever get a divorce. I was ashamed and embarrassed. I was, however blessed to have an abundant career that enabled me as a single mom to not just survive but truly thrive.
My clients that learned later of the mental strife I was going through said they never would have guessed. Thank God I had something to focus on other than my grief. I had two precious boys that relied on me.
The day of our independence reminds me of what an amazing country we live in that WE determine what we do for a living, who we serve, how we grow, what we learn, and what we EARN. The privilege of choice is something to celebrate.
I was able to not just survive but truly thrive on my own and even buy my own home in CA as a single mom, which is no small feat. I don’t say that to brag. I share that to show an example of the blessings this country has given me. Something I believe every one of us is capable of if we set our minds to it and take action.
No matter where you are in the world, my wish for you is to have the freedom to choose the life that will bring you financial independence and joy. I pray for you the power of creating your own destiny in the face of any adversity. I hope for you to take a gamble on yourself and NEVER stop learning or growing.
I am so blessed that you have chosen to be a part of this community. My affirmation this week is where focus goes, energy flows. Use it if it will help you too!
Recently I did an interview series with a bunch of courageous men and women who made a leap from Corporate to Entrepreneur. I’ll be sharing my interviews with the hope one of their stories will touch your soul and give you some inspiration to grow into something new yourself!
Arel Moodie should be the poster boy for rags-to-riches stories. Arel has been a featured speaker at the White House and has been personally acknowledged by President Obama. After growing up in the projects of Brooklyn, NY on welfare, he went to college, which is where he started his first business and went on to build a million dollar event production and entrepreneurship education company.
